The chemical industry uses specific construction materials for a variety of plants and equipment. Industrial equipment’s areexposed to highly corrosive environments, high pressures and temperatures in vessels, tanks, valves, pumps, compressors, agitators, etc.

Glass Production

A material which gains moisture from the atmosphere as the relative humidity increases is said to be hygroscopic. The thin, transparent, plastic film which serves as the adhesive between layers of safety glass is substantially hygroscopic. The more hygroscopic a material is, the more moisture it will pick up during periods of high humidity. If film exposed to moisture, the film will boil off in processing, creating steam bubbles which get trapped in laminated glass, causing quality issues and costly product loss.

FBD

If air is allowed to flow through a bed of solid powdered material in upward direction with the velocity greater than the settling rate of the particles, the solid particles will blown up and become suspended in air stream. Use of hot air to fluidizing the bed will increase the drying rate of material. AAI Dehumidifier controls the moisture level.

SOLUTIONS

  • CORROSION

    Chemical reactions at high temperatures (e.g. thermal cracking or pyrolysis) as well as medium and room temperature, often generate highly corrosive environments. Corrosion progresses rapidly when humidity exceeds 60%. Dehumidification maintains the moisture level so that corrosion could be avoided.

  • PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT

    If coolant temperature is lowered then production could be increased. Aqua Aura dehumidifiers maintain the coolant temperature.

  • PRODUCT DRYING

    Product drying applications include two types: bulk drying and continuous drying. In bulk drying the material is loaded into a compartment and the entire load is dried as a batch. With continuous drying the wet material is continuously fed into a drying chamber and material continuously leaves the chamber, dried to the desired moisture level.Drying operations involve the removal of free moisture, hygroscopic moisture, or a combination of both. AAI dehumidification system will increase drying potential and drying rate.
